FROM THE EDITORS
To Mr. Wa. Ku. in Kaz. — A workshop cannot be opened without possessing a craftsman’s card.
However, in accordance with Article 198 of industrial law, you may obtain a craftsman’s card. You should submit an application to the district starostwo (district office) for the issuance of a craftsman’s card, and the application must be accompanied by a certificate from the communal office stating that you have worked in this profession for more than five years.
-
Indicate the type of pattern and, for ladies’ measurements, write half the volume, not the ready-to-wear measurement.
-
Write precisely whether it should be a custom-made cut or a standard ready-made one.
Therefore, you should await the starostwo’s decision, and only then, depending on the outcome of that decision, file a possible appeal to the Voivodeship Office within a period not exceeding 14 days from the date of delivery of the ruling. The appeal is filed through the district starostwo. Regarding the preferential examination, an application should be submitted to the Chamber of Crafts.
- It must be considered that standard ready-made patterns are cut according to templates and cannot accommodate special requests. For custom-made cuts, special requests are considered individually.
To Mr. Le. Dę. in Dr. — In accordance with Article 147 of industrial law, the district starostwo should, within 30 days from the date of notification, either issue a craftsman’s card or prohibit the further conduct of the craft.
-
It is important to note what sizes of ready-made patterns are listed in the price list and only order those sizes. All other patterns are made according to the measurements provided.
-
If the journal comes from another publisher, send the image, which will be returned.
To Mr. W. Pł. in Gł. — In accordance with Article 190, supervision over the Chamber of Crafts is exercised by the Minister of Industry and Trade, so a complaint about the chamber’s activities can be filed with him. However, we advise patience; correspondence with all authorities takes a very long time. The Chamber will certainly resolve your matter, but you need to wait a bit. Filing a complaint, in our opinion, will not speed up the process either.
-
If you wish to save money, send the payment along with postage with your order; this will save significant advance payment costs.
-
The above should be well remembered, and every letter should be reread before sending, which will save both you and us work. Because time is money.

We have repeatedly drawn attention to the necessity of rational bookkeeping by craftsmen. However, the difficulties in keeping commercial books lay in craftsmen’s unfamiliarity with bookkeeping and the lack of a popular textbook that would enable masters or their family members to learn accounting, recognized by tax authorities as sufficient to prove income and turnover for income and turnover tax assessment. Currently, “Craftsman’s Accounting” has been published in book form. The brief, concise, and clear presentation of the matter enables anyone to learn accounting in a short time, especially since it is supported by a short, worked-out example showing how to apply theory in practice. Mr. Niebrój’s booklet will also facilitate the learning of craftsman’s accounting in vocational schools. It is based on the curricula of this subject in vocational schools. Hence
